A Senior Developer Without the Agency Overheads
UK small studios and freelancers commonly start around £500–£1,500, with typical projects at £2,000–£3,500. Packages here start at £279 for up to 3 pages and £549 for up to 8, because I work remotely from New Delhi and there's no Shoreditch office to pay for. Same lean WordPress build, same 90+ mobile speed target, same rule that every login is yours. Nobody will offer you a flat white and a mood-board workshop, but nobody will bill you for one either.
What UK customers look for first is rarely the design. It's whether you cover their town, whether you're properly registered and insured, and whether there's a phone number that works. So that's what goes above the fold.
Calls in Your Afternoon
Calls run Monday to Friday, 9am–1pm US Eastern (ET), which is 2pm–6pm UK time for most of the year. For a few weeks each spring and fall, when the US and UK change their clocks on different dates, it shifts by an hour; the booking calendar shows the right local time automatically. Email replies come within one business day, and you'll get short Loom videos as the site comes together, so you can review progress between customers rather than in another meeting.
UK GDPR, PECR and Accessibility Basics
Not legal advice, but these are the essentials for a UK small-business website:
- UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Tell people what your forms collect and why, keep only what you need, and handle requests for copies or deletion. Most businesses that process personal data also pay the ICO data protection fee unless they're exempt.
- PECR: cookies and marketing. Non-essential cookies, such as most advertising cookies, generally need consent, and so do most marketing emails to individuals (with a "soft opt-in" for existing customers). Some cookie rules are changing under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, so I check the ICO's current guidance at build time.
- Accessibility and the Equality Act 2010. Service providers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and that's widely understood to include websites. Builds follow WCAG 2.2 AA practices: contrast, keyboard navigation, alt text and labeled forms.
- Company details. If you trade as a limited company, your website should show your registered company name, company number, place of registration and registered office address.

Paying From the UK
Pay by card through Stripe, PayPal or bank transfer, quoted in pounds. Usually 50% to start and 50% before launch, and if you don't approve the design, you get the full upfront payment back. See pricing (switch the currency to GBP) or small business website design.
