Australian Work You Can Look At
Roser Lawyers is a Sydney law firm, and its website is one of my published case studies: practice-area pages, team profiles and a simple way to request a consultation. It's a good example of the job an Australian service-business site has to do, which is to look established, answer the obvious questions and make the next step easy.
What Australian Websites Usually Cost
A small business site in Australia commonly runs roughly A$1,500–A$6,000 from a local studio or freelancer. Packages here start at A$549 for up to 3 pages and A$1,049 for up to 8, because I work remotely from New Delhi and don't have a Surry Hills office to pay for. The money you save won't cover a beach house, but it might cover the coffee machine.
Working Across the Time Difference
Here's the honest version: my call window is 9am–1pm US Eastern, which falls in the small hours in Australia. So Australian projects run mostly async, and they run well that way. Email replies come within one business day, Loom video walkthroughs arrive while you sleep, and you sign off each milestone in writing. If a call genuinely helps, we arrange one by email; your afternoon is my morning, so there's usually an easy overlap.
Privacy Act, Spam Act and Accessibility Basics
Not legal advice, but these are the rules worth knowing for an Australian small-business site:
- Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles. Many small businesses with an annual turnover of A$3 million or less are exempt, but there are exceptions, including health service providers and businesses that trade in personal information. A clear privacy policy is good practice either way.
- Spam Act 2003. Commercial emails and texts need consent, must identify your business and must include a working unsubscribe.
- Disability Discrimination Act 1992. The Australian Human Rights Commission's guidance points to WCAG for accessible websites, so builds follow WCAG 2.2 AA practices.
- Australian Consumer Law. Prices and claims on your site mustn't be misleading, and prices shown to consumers should be the total price, including any compulsory fees.

Paying From Australia
Pay by card through Stripe, PayPal or bank transfer, quoted in Australian dollars. Usually 50% to start and 50% before launch, and if you don't approve the design, you get the full upfront payment back. See pricing (switch the currency to AUD) or WordPress care plans.
